The Opportunity
Our valued client is an international growing company in the Footwear industry. As a Product Engineering Senior Manager in this firm you will have a unique opportunity to strengthen your management skills and excel your English in an international working environment. This position will be based in Hai Phong or HCMC. (open for both locations)
Key Responsibilities
OPERATIONS AND DELIVERY
- Create a culture of exploration of new ideas and empower team members to share findings that can benefit products or the organization.
- Create and lead Engineering and Material Development activities to ensure products meet the brand & consumer needs are developed and successfully engineered for mass production at or exceeding target margins and defined quality.
- Create and lead the management execution and evolution of the Engineering function and Best Practices to ensure T1 approval and on-time RTB for production purchase order release and timely hand-off to Commercialization and Production teams.
- Provide technical expertise and advice on corrective action plans in teardown and T1 meetings as necessary to ensure product is always made to the highest technical standards and quality while adhering to established product best practices.
- Aligning with manufacturing partner factories DEFOSS and ME team to identify opportunities and achieve Engineering data digitalization initiatives

- Create a succession plan by identifying retaining and promoting highly effective team members to positions best suited to execute brand and corporate objectives.
- Champions and ensures progressive employee development practices that provide employees with clear roles clear goals clear feedback and development plans and visible career paths within Deckers.
- Be a trusted colleague of the Senior Leadership team.
STRATEGY AND PLANNING
- Partners with leaders in US Development Engineering Design Merchandising and UGG Asia departments both within and outside the Business Units to deploy strategies to support business objectives.
- Guide and support partner factories to continuously increase product capabilities & skills.
- Create and align team goals to support corresponding corporate objectives and priorities.
- Lead and partner with department leaders to identify areas of improvement to Deckers Supply Chain overall skill set & continue to help to upskill its performance and capabilities.
- Lead and partner with Development Comm QA and Production teams to deliver on key long-term projects.
- Lead and execute continuous improvement initiatives in Engineering and Material Development.
- Lead and partner with T1 partners to build Best Practices and processes around product and intellectual security.
- Lead execute and land UGG and Deckers digital transformation initiatives
TRAINING
- Travel to factories suppliers and US HQ as necessary.
- Proactively seek evaluate and understand new materials components technologies products and methods of make relevant to the industry and share insights with the Development teams to influence and elevate product offerings.
- Attend training classes workshops conferences and summits to acquire and enhance relevant technical skills.
Key Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Industrial Design Textile Engineering or equivalent work experience.
- 15 years experience in the footwear industry with concentration in Development Commercialization Production or Quality Assurance
- 10 years experience managing staff
- Extensive knowledge of material applications for product use
- Extensive knowledge of product constructions
- Extensive knowledge of Development seasonal calendars and expected deliverables at key milestones
