The Role:
- Senior Automation Systems Engineer
- Copenhagen - This will be an onsite role based within 20km of the center of Copenhagen. You must be living in Denmark and be able to be onsite daily.

Role Brief:
NNIT has an opportunity for an experienced Senior Automation Systems Engineer to support a key client on a specialist team that focuses on the support of a Process Optimisation IT System for calculating Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). This system provides data for reporting capacity planning and decision-making running in discrete production lines.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Gateway server configurations Kepware knowledge OT knowledge
- Troubleshooting and investigation of data quality issues and technical support
- Configuration of new lines in Kepware.
- Review Interface Agreements (IFA) for existing and new lines.
- Testing of automation equipment and processes.
- Production or manufacturing knowledge in pharma (GxP)
- Stakeholder management across sites and time zones.
- Conduct testing of the solution (internal SAT) in TIMS to ensure reliability and performance.
- Knowledge in configure and maintain automation systems including PLCs SCADA
- Develop and maintain clear comprehensive documentation for automation processes and user guidelines.
Skills Brief:
Essential skills and experience:
- Strong experience across a range of industrial automation technologies such as PLC SCADA MES PI and others gained within Pharma Life Sciences or Medical Devices manufacturing environments.
- At least 3 years direct experience working with Operational Technology (OT) systems in Pharma Life Sciences or Medical Devices manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (OPC UA).
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical industry.
Preferred skills and experience:
- Experience working with SQL and other databases found in automated manufacturing environments.
- Programming and development experience in C#.
- Some knowledge of ActiveX Data Objects (ADO)
Person Brief:
Candidates will as a minimum have a bachelors degree in IT Mechatronics/Automation or Engineering or a highly related technical discipline with 5 or more years experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
You should have a diverse technical skillset and exposure to a range of systems within the Pharma Life Sciences or Medical Devices manufacturing industry but you must have significant OT experience and be able to provide evidence of delivering against a number of tasks or projects in this field.
A minimum of 2 years experience in a GMP regulated environment (Pharma/Life Sciences Biotech or Medical Devices) is essential and only candidates with significant experience in this regard can be considered.
The role will have a full onsite requirement with only occasional remote work also possible. There can be no guaranteed or fully scheduled requirements regarding the onsite element so therefore you should be living in Denmark and close to the site which is 20km outside Copenhagen. Only EU citizens and candidates with a current Danish work permit can be considered at this time.
