Job Summary:
This position is for a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in a long-term care facility. The LVN/LPN will provide nursing care to patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse focusing on patient assessments medication administration and treatment planning within the scope of practice. Prior travel experience is required.

Responsibilities:
- Providing direct patient care as directed by an RN.
- Gathering and reporting patient data.
- Carrying out physician orders and performing therapeutic procedures.
- Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.
- Performing patient assessments and medication administration.
- Participating in treatment planning.
- Adhering to facility policies procedures and guidelines.
- Floating within scope to meet facility needs.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current LPN/LVN license in Alaska.
- BLS certification.
- Minimum of one year of experience in long-term care.
- Ability to work a 4x12-hour variable shift schedule (days or nights).
- Valid drivers license and proof of insurance (for use of provided vehicle).
- Personal vehicle insurance policy must include rental car insurance.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- More than one year of long-term care experience.
Special Considerations:
- Prior travel experience is required.
- On-call is not required.
- Shifts are either days or nights depending on facility needs. Caregivers are not typically asked to rotate between day and night shifts.
- The facility provides a vehicle for use during the assignment with specific restrictions on usage and responsibility for maintenance and cleaning.
- Time off is approved on an individual basis.
- Guaranteed hours are 60 per two weeks with the possibility of one 12-hour shift cancellation per two weeks.
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility.
- A pending license is not acceptable.
Scheduling:
- 4x12-hour variable shifts (days or nights).
- Shift assignments depend on facility needs at the time of the start date.
- No guaranteed block scheduling.
- 60 guaranteed hours per two weeks.
