EDM Technician
Location: CV32
Hourly Rate: 21.50 per hour holiday pay
Hours: Monday to Thursday; 9pm 7am
Contract Length: 6-month contract
Contract Type: LTD or Umbrella (inside IR35)
Start Date: ASAP
Syntech Recruitment are looking for a hands-on EDM Technician. Were working with a respected precision engineering business that is expanding its EDM capability for small-batch high-quality component manufacture. This is your chance to work with advanced Swiss-built machinery and be part of a company that values excellence continuous improvement and right-first-time delivery.
EDM Technician responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain Charmilles Wire EDM and Form 200 Spark Erosion machinery.
- Interpret and work from technical drawings and planning route cards.
- Ensure components are manufactured to exact specifications meeting stringent quality standards.
- Use (or be trained on) RoboCam for offline programming.
- Deliver batch work for motorsport and aerospace clients under tight deadlines.
- Collaborate with the wider team to identify opportunities for process improvements.
- Support other manufacturing areas when needed showing a flexible can-do attitude.
EDM Technician Experience:
Hands-on experience with Wire EDM/Spark Erosion
Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings
Competency with offline programming (RoboCam or similar training offered)
Experience producing precision-engineered components
A team-focused mindset adaptable to a fast-paced environment
Willingness to work additional hours if needed to meet delivery deadlines
