EHS Coordinator
Location: Port Arthur TX HQ with support for Deer Park TX & Port Allen LA
Reports to: Regional Manager of Integrated Management

FLSA: Exempt

PURPOSE:

The EHS Coordinator is the on-site leader for environmental health and safety programs across our Port Arthur Deer Park and Port Allen locations. This role ensures compliance with company standards OSHA EPA and other regulations while partnering with leadership employees and contractors to promote a safe sustainable and continuously improving workplace.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

EHS Program Administration

  • Implement and maintain site-specific EHS programs in alignment with corporate and regional policies
  • Conduct new hire safety orientation and ongoing EHS training
  • Maintain all EHS documentation training records incident logs and inspection reports per KSB standards
  • Coordinate annual safety plan activities and report progress to management

Compliance & Regulatory Support

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with OSHA EPA ISO 14001 ISO 45001 state and local regulations
  • Support permitting waste management spill prevention and all aspects of environmental compliance
  • Conduct document and follow-up on routine workplace safety inspections audits and timely closure of action items

Incident Management & Emergency Preparedness

  • Assist supervisors and managers with incident and near miss investigation root cause analysis and provide corrective action recommendations and promptly report incidents to the Regional Manager of Integrated Management and site leadership
  • Maintain site emergency response procedures and coordinate drills

Hazard Identification & Risk Reduction

  • Facilitate Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and pre-task planning for high-risk activities such as lifting rigging confined space entry and pump disassembly/reassembly.
  • Proactively track and close safety observations near misses inspection findings and corrective actions.
  • Analyze safety data and trends making recommendations to prevent incidents.

Communication & Engagement

  • Serve as point of contact for all EHS matters inspections and audits.
  • Lead or participate in monthly safety meetings toolbox talks and EHS initiatives.
  • Promote employee participation in safety suggestion hazard identification incident and near miss reporting stop unsafe work authority and recognition programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates degree in Safety Environmental Science Industrial Hygiene or a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience
  • 25 years of EHS experience in an industrial manufacturing or field service environment (pump or rotating equipment experience a plus)
  • Knowledge of OSHA EPA ISO 14001 ISO 45001 and related standards
  • Strong communication skills with ability to train and influence all levels of the workforce.
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Safety certifications (e.g. OSHA 30 First Aid/CPR CSP) preferred
    • Candidates lacking OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR must obtain within 6 months of hire (company-sponsored)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to lift 2550lbs
  • Capable of standing/walking for extended periods
  • Ability to work in hot cold noisy or dusty environments and wear required PPE
  • May occasionally enter confined spaces or elevated work areas following proper safety protocols
