The University of Nevada Las Vegas invites applications for Assistant/Associate Professor School of Nursing R0148554.
The UNLV School of Nursing is seeking a tenure-track or tenured Nursing faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor as a part of an Addictions cluster hire with the School of Nursing School of Public Health and College of Liberal Arts/Department of Psychology. This position will be involved in teaching and research related activities related to health disparities and addictions within the School of Nursing.
Responsibilities are to (1) teach undergraduate and graduate nursing courses consistent with area of expertise; (2) collaborate with other faculty in course development; (3) use teaching resources such as WebCampus/Canvas to foster learning; (4) provide student supervision; (5) participate in school university professional and community service activities; (6) engage in research leading to publications in quality refereed journals; and (7) seek internal and external grant funds. Classes in the School of Nursing are offered year-round using a trimester sequence.
A successful candidate will have research expertise and experience in conducting research on health disparities and addictions. The faculty member will have an established track record of scientific publications and research dissemination that includes local regional and national presentations at conferences seminars symposia and community outreach events.
This faculty member will enhance the impact of interdisciplinary research on health disparities and addictions by engaging in collaborations and partnerships with diverse community social clinical and translational research centers at local state national and global levels. Successful candidates will need to have a demonstrated track record in or potential for securing external grant awards from such agencies as the National Institutes of Health the Center for Disease Control and Prevention the National Science Foundation and other funding agencies.
The School of Nursing at UNLV offers CCNE-accredited programs leading to a BSN MS (nurse practitioner and nurse educator tracks) DNP and PhD (Educator and Interprofessional Health concentrations and DNP to PhD).
For more information visit us on-line at: QUALIFICATIONS The individual must hold a doctorate in nursing or a related field from an accredited College or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). The individual must also hold or be qualified to hold a Nevada RN license and if selected applicant is subject to a one-time background check. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment. Faculty rank will be dependent upon educational credentials terminal degree experience and scholarly the instance of tenure-track or tenured consideration the rank and track will be based on UNLV School of Nursing criteria and review. NOTE:The senior level nursing faculty member must possess a record of extensive scholarly achievement. Assistant/Associate Professor (tenure-track): terminal degree and comprehensive experience and research activity. Associate Professor (tenured): terminal degree research activity and a record of extensive scholarly achievement.
