We are seeking an experienced Make Ready Manager to oversee and manage the make-ready process required for fiber and telecommunications network deployments. This role is critical in ensuring that utility poles conduits and other infrastructure are properly prepared and in compliance with safety regulatory and permitting requirements before construction begins. The Make Ready Manager will coordinate with utility providers municipalities contractors and internal teams to keep projects on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end make-ready process for aerial and underground telecom deployments.
  • Coordinate with utility companies municipalities and third-party vendors to secure permits and approvals.
  • Review engineering drawings and field surveys to identify make-ready requirements.
  • Oversee and track utility pole applications attachment requests and related documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with FCC regulations National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and local/state requirements.
  • Monitor progress of make-ready work proactively resolving delays and escalations.
  • Maintain accurate project records status reports and documentation for leadership.
  • Collaborate with construction and engineering teams to align timelines and minimize project bottlenecks.
  • Manage vendor performance budgets and invoices associated with make-ready work.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for stakeholders regarding make-ready activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Telecommunications Engineering Construction Management or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5 years of experience in telecommunications utilities or related infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of pole attachment processes permitting and regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of aerial/underground fiber construction methods and safety standards.
  • Excellent project management organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid drivers license and willingness to travel as needed.
  • Experience working directly with power utilities or joint use organizations.
  • Familiarity with GIS systems and field survey tools.
  • PMP or other project management certification.
  • Prior experience with large-scale fiber deployment projects.
