Job Description
Shares responsibility for the implementation of the Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) management system in order to meet business objectives and to maintain the license to operate. Provides hands-on environmental industrial hygiene (IH) and health and safety (H&S) activities for a specific plant. Requires broadened technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities.
Responsibilities / Duties:
Implements detailed task-level day-to-day EH&S programs utilizing the EH&S work process standards and procedures.
Ensures that the Environmental IH and Health and Safety aspects of operating discipline are adequate and applied to achieve EH&S performance most cases would perform the role of section owner for the EH&S sections of the operating discipline.
Acts as the Plant resource for related EH&S information on procedures guidelines and standards.
Serves as plant contact for Environmental IH and Health and Safety issues.
Coaches teams and individuals on EH&S-related tasks and activities.
Assists in developing and achieving area or plant EH&S goals.
Ensures compliance tasks are completed.
Performs/coordinates certain Environmental and IH monitoring data collection analysis and reporting for the Plant.
Required Qualifications:
Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Word and Excel and have the ability to learn new systems quickly.
Must be 18 years old or older.
Must be willing to work weekends and holidays if required.
Must be willing to work overtime (extra hours beyond your regular scheduled) if required.

Preferred Qualifications:
2 or more years of experience in manufacturing and/or environmental health and safety fields is preferred.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills are required.
Must have strong multi-tasking problem-solving and time management skills.
Demonstrate leadership skills - inspire others and lead them through influence.
A self-starter who can identify prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks.
Must be able to read write and speak English.
Physical Requirements:
Must be willing and able to do the following with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Wear safety equipment such as earplugs goggles and steel-toed shoes.
Wear and use respirators.
Climb stairs/ladders and work high off the ground.
Stand or walk for extended periods of time.
Education:
A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.
An associates degree or higher in a relevant field OR 4 years of military experience preferred.
