Day to day you will:
Oversee a comprehensive audience strategy identifying key trends opportunities and areas for content improvement
Lead on SEO and other digital best practices to maximise the reach and visibility of our content
Lead and manage audience and social media team - managing workflows setting clear objectives providing regular feedback
Assist in managing social media accounts
Assist in development and execution of premium subscription content
Have an instinct for how to sell a digital story to get maximum impact on the Irish Suns platforms and social media - guiding journalists on best practices for optimising content for search engines and social media including writing and refining headlines and meta descriptions
Monitor analytics and news feeds to ensure the best content is being surfaced and effectively recirculate readers within The Irish Sun and keep them absorbed with our content
Help execute and develop our push notification strategy
Help oversee growth in our video output making sure its a key feature of the content we create
Liaise with UK Audience team on strategy and engagement
Stay up to date with emerging digital platforms
What we are looking for from you:
Experience in a fast-paced newsroom
Data-driven with strong analytical skills
Expert level SEO expertise especially on-page with a general interest in SEO and audience trends.
Good knowledge of technical SEO principles
Effective project management and experience working with many stakeholders (Editorial/Commercial) to deliver strategy
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Can confidently translate and crystalise key information and share with wider teams
Great leadership skills with an innate ability to teach and develop others
A passion for journalism and a keen understanding of the Irish media landscape
Dynamic and entrepreneurial work style.
