Job Description
The J.R. Simplot Company is a diverse privately held global food and agriculture company headquartered in Boise Idaho. We are a true farm-to-table company with an integrated portfolio including food processing and food brands phosphate mining fertilizer manufacturing farming ranching and cattle production and other enterprises related to agriculture.
Summary
This seasonal roles primary responsibility is to operate diesel powered trucks to haul potatoes for the duration of the potato harvest season.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering and transporting potatoes from field to warehouse
- Sitting for long periods of time.
- Being able to communicate effectively with other team members to provide accurate delivery and shipment of product.
- Other duties as assigned.
Typical Education
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Relevant Experience
- Prior experience in general farming operations.
- 1 year minimum of truck driving experience with experience driving a truck in off road conditions.
- 1 year of experience loading under a harvester preferred
Required Certifications
- Must possess valid drivers license
- Work days will include some evenings weekends and holidays depending on business need and schedule ability to work this schedule.
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Able to work well with others in a fast paced environment.
- Able to be on time for shift.
