Class Summary
- Job Description
This Extension Program Assistant will work collaboratively with the Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) Extension Agent other Extension staff volunteers and community collaborators such as Health and Human Services Senior Center staff to achieve FACS program goals. The incumbent must have the ability to communicate clearly and concisely (verbally and in writing) in English and Korean or Vietnamese with the staff program participants community groups and the public.
Essential Duties- Developing educational handouts and curricula for classes programs and events
- Performing a variety of basic clerical duties in support of program activities
- Creating and maintaining records and files as assigned
- Scheduling activities as assigned
- Participating in regular staff meetings and assisting with in-service training as needed
- Acting as a liaison between parents staff and school
- Performing other related duties as assigned
Public Speaking- Assisting with preparation and facilitation of a variety of programs for youth adults and older adults/seniors
- Promoting/marketing FACS classes programs and trainings at health fairs and countywide events
Grade- The grade for the position is B23(1). Salary will be dependent on education and experience.
- Bachelor Degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Agriculture/Horticulture or a related field
- One year of experience in related field
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
- Valid drivers license
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor degree in Family and Consumer Sciences
- Two years of experience developing educational programs
Other Job Requirements/Information- This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after hours weekend and/or holidays
