We have the unique opportunity to work for Life Sciences Solutions Group (LSG) and support both the Bioscience (BID) and Biologicals and Chemicals (BCD) divisions in our shared mission to enable our customers to make the world healthier cleaner and safer. The BID and BCD divisions are at the forefront of developing solutions for both upstream and downstream manufacturing continuously improving product quality through innovative technologies. From our base in Inchinnan we serve research institutes contract manufacturing organizations clinical laboratories and pharmaceutical companies worldwide. Our extensive portfolio which includes cell analysis gene expression analysis buffers and cell culture media analysis assists these entities in accelerating the commercialisation and large-scale manufacturing of new or existing biotherapeutics.
Join our team as a Senior Material Handler and make a significant impact by efficiently picking and packing customer orders in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Your attention to detail will ensure orders are shipped accurately and on time supporting our mission to enable our customers to make the world healthier cleaner and safer.
A Day in the Life:
Warehouse Excellence: Perform warehouse duties in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). Conduct in-process checks to ensure quality.
Regulatory Compliance: Maintain accurate records to meet regulatory requirements GMPs GDP and SOPs. Contribute to the creation of departmental SOPs and competencies.
Equipment Operation: Safely and competently operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
Safety Advocacy: Promote a culture of safety. Perform tasks efficiently and ensure others adhere to safety standards. Maintain housekeeping standards including the application of 5S.
Customer Interaction: Support internal and external customer visits and represent the department in meetings.
Team Collaboration: Work with team members to overcome obstacles. Collaborate support and consult with peers advancing concerns when necessary.
Positive Work Ethic: Exhibit focus flexibility and a positive attitude. Take responsibility and be accountable for your actions.
Leadership & Training: Lead by example and coach others on procedures and teamwork. Support resource planning and conduct on-the-job training for team members new hires and trainees.
Continuous Improvement: Suggest assist and implement new procedures. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance output goals (PPI).
Resource Organization: Ensure the team has the necessary resources to perform their tasks efficiently.
System Competency: Use required systems competently run necessary reports and participate in reporting activities.
Performance Support: Assist Lead Material Handlers in achieving team performance goals and recording metrics.
Additional Responsibilities: Take on additional duties as required in line with the role.
Education: High School Diploma Secondary Education Advanced Certificate or equivalent.
Required: Minimum of 2 years of work experience in distribution warehouse or supply chain or related field
Preferred: Experience in a cGMP environment
Preferred: Experience with powered industrial trucks (order pickers forklifts)
Systems Knowledge: Competent user of E1 and Trax; basic knowledge of Agile.
Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication in English.
Forklift Operation: Ability to operate Reach and Bendi Fork Lift Trucks.
Stakeholder Management: Effective skills in maintaining relationships with colleagues at all levels.
Performance Metrics: Understanding of metrics and their influence on performance.
Lean Practices: Knowledge of PPI (Practical Process Improvement) and 5S methodologies.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Proactive Approach: Displays initiative and takes a proactive approach.
Training Support: Ability to support training and qualification of the team enabling them to operate maintain changeover and troubleshoot equipment while maintaining compliance with safety protocols and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
