Job Description:
The Senior Adult Services Director is a leadership role responsible for overseeing Valle del Sols General Mental Health (GMH) and Substance Use Disorder (SUD) programs along with support staff. This position ensures the delivery of high-quality client-centered services while managing departmental budgets grant deliverables and regulatory compliance. The Senior Adult Services Director serves as an advocate for adult behavioral health services collaborates with stakeholders and provides strategic and operational leadership to achieve program goals.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership and Supervision
- Directly oversee supervisors for GMH SUD programs and support staff providing guidance to meet program and contractual objectives.
- Ensure services align with organizational standards funding requirements and regulatory mandates.
- Collaborate with supervisors and staff to implement effective strategies for high-quality service delivery.
- Promote integration of behavioral health and physical health services for comprehensive care.
Budget and Resource Management
- Develop monitor and report on the departments annual budget ensuring alignment with funding contracts and financial goals.
- Adjust material financial and staffing resources to maximize efficiency and maintain operations within budget parameters.
- Ensure compliance with grant deliverables and effectively utilize available funding to enhance program services.
Quality Management
- Oversee quality assurance processes to ensure the department consistently meets production compliance and quality goals.
- Monitor clinical and operational effectiveness making data-driven adjustments to improve outcomes.
- Ensure program practices and policies are reviewed and updated annually to maintain accuracy and compliance.
- Address compliance issues promptly through corrective actions and staff training as needed.
Strategic and Community Advocacy
- Act as a representative of Valle del Sol in external meetings advocating for integrated behavioral health and physical health services for adults.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with funders stakeholders and community partners to expand program reach and impact.
- Seek strategic opportunities for program development and diverse funding managing relationships to support new initiatives and deliverables.
Leadership and Team Development
- Actively participate in Shared Operational Leadership representing the departments needs and contributing to organizational decision-making.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to program supervisors fostering professional development and collaboration.
- Deliver individual family or group therapy if holding a caseload.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all department operations comply with state and federal regulations organizational standards and funder requirements.
- Regularly review and update practices to maintain alignment with current policies and laws.
Other Responsibilities
- Serve as a liaison between Shared Operational Leadership and program staff advocating for departmental needs.
- Represent Valle del Sol positively in the community and maintain productive relationships with external stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and operations of Valle del Sol.
Qualifications
- Masters degree in Social Work Counseling Psychology or a related field (required).
- Independent licensure (LCSW LPC LMFT or equivalent) in the state of Arizona (required).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in behavioral health with at least 2 years in a leadership role overseeing adult services.
- Proven expertise in managing GMH and SUD programs including budget development and grant compliance.
- Knowledge of Arizona behavioral health regulations and evidence-based practices for adult populations.
- Strong leadership organizational and interpersonal skills.

- Experience integrating behavioral health and primary care services.
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining partnerships with community stakeholders.
