Job Description

Job: RN Clinical Coordinator
Classification: Hourly/Non-Exempt
Job Category: 2 Professionals

Position Summary
The Clinical Coordinator coordinates unit specific nursing within nursing service and as a member of an interdisciplinary team and is responsible for the daily operation of the unit and assist with patient care in the unit as conjunction with the Clinical Director the Clinical Coordinator will assist with the employment training and evaluation of staff will assist director in implementing and monitoring quality improvement Joint Commission Standards AORN Standards Policies and Procedures staff education and services. The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for assisting with preparing the budget assuring all equipment in the department is safe and that staff is compliant with unit policies. The Clinical Coordinator functions as a liaison for the unit by maintaining effective lines of communication with all concerned the absence of the Clinical Director the Clinical Coordinator will be the person responsible for the unit.

Essential Functions
-Supervises care of department and equipment to ensure cleanliness sterility and operational ability of all items.
-Directs all safety measures to prevent accidents harm or injury in any way to patient staff or equipment.
-Assigns staff; delegates specific duties and tasks.
-Supervises care and cleanliness of equipment and supplies to ensure good working conditions.
-Observes use and handling of supplies to decrease mishandling and breakage.
-Continuously supervises staff to ensure quality of nursing care.
-Ensures time sheets are accurately completed as required.
-Demonstrates critical thinking skills in decision making.
-Schedules and assigns staff to increase efficiency and coordination of department.
-Staffs according to standards.
-Properly documents ongoing assessment plan of care and medication administration.
-Provides care appropriate to the age of the population served.
-Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality.
-Delegates: reviews performance improvement monitoring; analyzes and evaluates department to improve nursing care.
-Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.
-Demonstrates supervision/leadership skills.
-Adheres to and follows all patient experience initiatives.
-Reports to and departs from work on time and as scheduled.
-Performs other duties as assigned.
-Must be able to deal with stress while maintaining composure.
-Follows and adheres to TRMC vaccine policy(s) mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

Work Experience
-Two years of Hospital experienced preferred.

Education
-Registered Nurse currently licensed to practice in the State of Texas required.
-BLS (Basic Life Support) upon hire date.
-ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) within 90 days of hire date.
-PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) within 90 days of hire date.
