The City of Topekas Information Technology (IT) department is seeking a dedicated individual to join its team as the departments Business Manager. This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Information Technology department including accounting and financial management business operations vendor management and administration functions.
What youll do:
- Track day-to-day expenses and make recommendations to ensure cost-effective use of resources.
- Compile revenue expenditure and other related forecasts for use in departmental budget preparation.
- Develop and maintain processes for tracking software hardware and professional service vendors contracts and licenses.
- Evaluate review and manage third-party technology vendors service providers and their related contracts.
- Oversee delivery of IT projects within scope time and budget.
The ideal candidate is:

- Relationship-driven with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in accounting business public administration or a related field is required with at least three years of financial computer science and/or analytical experience OR
- Without a bachelors degree a high school diploma or its equivalent is required with at least seven years of financial computer science and/or analytical experience.
- Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) or Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO) is preferred. Additional licenses or certifications may be required.
Annual Entry Salary: $63865 - $76638 depending on qualifications
