Job Description

Marion County requires on-site work. Remote work is not available.

We are seeking an Addiction Treatment Associate 2 (CADC-II) to join our team at Her Place a substance use disorder treatment program with supported housing for women who are pregnant and/or parenting children. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working in an environment that supports women and their children and is a collaborative team member. This position provides client-centered treatment services facilitates evidence-based groups and supports women in recovery as they work toward family reunification stability and recovery.

GENERALSTATEMENT OF DUTIES
Primary responsibility of this class is counseling and case management. May organize and facilitate care coordination teams. Under clinical supervision: Provide counseling and case management to persons served and their families. Prepare and maintain service records. May develop and implement specific services in the community. May be required to facilitate or coordinate 24/7 on call services.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Work under supervision of a Clinical Supervisor or designee who assigns work establishes goals and reviews results obtained for overall effectiveness. Work within a team and collaborates with other team members. May also work independently in providing program services.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Supervision of others in not a responsibility of positions in this classification however may exercise lead duties and/or responsibilities for employees teams or projects.

Typical Duties - Duties include but are not limited to the following

The incumbent performs all of the following using a person-centered strengths-based recovery-oriented trauma-informed culturally-sensitive and ethically-guided approach:

  • Works collaboratively and fosters a supportive environment that promotes trust safety and meaningful engagement with mothers and their children in an off-site supported housing environment delivering services to mothers and their children including those involved with but not limited to child welfare or other community agencies. Builds rapport with individuals; informs persons served of their rights and responsibilities; explains program policies; screens for the presence of substance use disorders; completes ASAM criteria assessments; screens for infectious diseases; uses relevant assessment information to prioritize needs; collaborates with persons served to create individualized service plans; identifies health and safety risks to self or others; applies crisis prevention management and de-escalation skills.
  • Delivers individual group and family counseling; provides psychoeducation to persons served and their support systems; provides skills-building to promote recovery and wellness; assists individuals and family members in building recovery networks. Observes same-gender individuals when submitting urine samples for alcohol/drug testing; administers quick-dip alcohol/drug testing; administers breathalyzer test.
  • Provides case management and care coordination services; makes timely referrals to other professionals agencies community programs or appropriate resources; evaluates outcome of referrals; creates and maintains positive relationships with community partners.
  • Upon supervisors request: Drives to attend meetings in the community associated with individuals progress in any of the following areas: medical mental health child custody legal/corrections etc. Driving is required.
  • Maintains clinical records in accordance with federal state county health and program requirements under the direction of the clinical supervisor.
  • Assists the clinical supervisor in program development overall service coordination and presentations of community educational programs outreach and activities.
  • Tracks treatment process progress and outcome; provides transition planning within a warm handoff framework.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Response Level 2: In the event of an emergency employee makes a reasonable effort to report to work. Employee may be required to perform duties outside of their regularly assigned duties. Employee may be requested to work an extended or flexible schedule. Staff at this response level must complete Incident Command System 100 and 700 on-line or in-person training.

Requirements for the Position

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

  1. Must possess or obtain within six (6) months of hire a current MHACBO (Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon) CADC II (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor) or higher; AND
  2. Two (2) years of full-time work experience in addiction counseling or addiction program coordination.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Working knowledge of the general concepts of substance use and mental health disorders; knowledge about community resources.
Skills and abilities delivery of addiction counseling and evaluation and individual group and family counseling techniques; making referrals for persons experiencing domestic violence crisis mental health challenges etc.; keeping privileged information confidential; establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with other employees persons served and their families other agencies and the public; following directions in a professional manner; preparing documentation of services in a timely and professional manner; ability to perform duties independently.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Operates a motor vehicle; sees using depth perception; stands; sits; moves about the work area; bends forward; climbs 1 floor of stairs; reaches overhead; lifts and carries up to 30 lbs.; pushes and pulls up to 15 lbs.; moves carts weighing up to 15 lbs.; operates a keyboard; speaks clearly and audibly; reads a 12-pt. font; distinguishes colors; hears a normal level of speech; uses universal precautions when dealing with hazardous situations or coming into contact with client body fluids.

PUBLIC SERVICE LOAN FORGIVENESS
Marion County is a qualifying public employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program full-time employees working at the County may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance on Direct Student Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan. Questions about your student loan eligibility should be directed to your loan servicer or the US Department of Education.

VISA SPONSORSHIP
Marion County does not offer VISA sponsorship. Within three days of hireyou will be required to complete the US Department of Homeland Securitys I-9 form confirming authorization to work in the United States.
