Our Mission
The mission of Corrections Services is to enhance public safety through the safe and secure incarceration of offenders effective probation/parole supervision and proven rehabilitative strategies that successfully reintegrate offenders into society as well as to assist individuals and communities victimized by crime. Goals and priorities are built around the Departments commitment to public safety and rehabilitation and serve to guide our performance in carrying out our mission. Goals and priorities include: staff and offender safety provision of basic services opportunity for change opportunity for making amends and reentry.
This position will provide direct and indirect services to male and female offenders currently on Probation and Parole supervision within East Feliciana/West Feliciana parishes and portions of East Baton Rouge Parish that are a potential high-risk for overdose. This position will work to reduce overdoses through providing education and through collaboration with treatment centers and harm reduction organizations in the area.

AN IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING COMPETENCIES:
Three years of social services experience; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field; OR
A bachelors degree.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Positions that provide addictive disorder counseling or prevention services will require certification or eligibility for certification issued by the Addictive Disorder Regulatory Authority (ADRA) or its successor.

Appointment Type: This posting is for a temporary job appointment lasting up to four years.
There is Premium Pay for this position:
A rate between $2.00 and $5.00 an hour for each regular hour worked based on years of service with DOC in addition to regular pay.
