Job Description
The Sander / Finisher is responsible for preparing and finishing wood products to a high standard of quality. Work can include tasks such as sanding oiling applying finish inspecting and packing with the ability to handle many different species of wood. This role may also assist with other shop tasks as needed.
- Sand wood surfaces by hand and with orbital sanders.
- Apply oil and in some cases additional finishing products.
- Inspect each piece for quality and consistency and fill voids as needed.
- Work with different wood species and adjust techniques as needed.
- Assist with packing and preparing products for shipment.
- Maintain tools equipment and a safe work area.
- Potential opportunity to load and run our Cobot
- Experience with sanding finishing or related woodwork is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail; able to notice small defects and fill voids.
- Reliable punctual and able to follow instructions.
- Comfortable with repetitive hands-on work.
- Able to lift 40 lbs and stand for long periods.
- Team-oriented willing to assist in other shop tasks when needed.
