Job Description
Mount Alvernia Academy a Franciscan Catholic elementary school is seeking a fifth-grade homeroom teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a full-time position. There is a fifth-grade teaching team and this position will cover the math and social studies curriculum. There are two Grade 5 homerooms each with approximately 17 students. Our math classes are divided into 3 groups based on students learning profiles. Our curriculum is established and lesson plans are available as a applicant must believe in and practice our Franciscan mission demonstrate a love and respect for students and be committed to instilling a passion for learning in each one. Experience with integrating technology to enhance learning is addition candidates must demonstrate excellent organizational written and verbal communications skills; have the ability to multitask; be able to coordinate projects and schedules in a fast-paced environment; integrate Chromebook usage and Google Classroom into practice and be a positive team player with a desire to contribute and share their gifts and talents with the students and administration of the reliable and punctual attendance is essential for the supervision and instruction of the students. While performing the duties of this job the teacher is frequently required to kneel stoop bend and/or crouch. The teacher is periodically required to stand while talking and listening.
