Job Description
Location: Amsterdam
Workload: 3640 hours/week
Contract: Payroll only (no freelancers/ZZP)
Start Date: As soon as possible
Salary: Excellent compensation based on seniority and experience
We are currently looking for a Senior Java Developer to join a strategic project at a major bank in Amsterdam. Youll be working in a fast-paced highly secure environment where stability scalability and compliance are key. The team operates in a DevOps setup and follows Agile/Scrum methodologies.
As a developer you will take part in the design development integration and maintenance of critical backend applications. These systems handle high volumes of sensitive financial transactions and must operate with zero tolerance for downtime. You will be working closely with solution architects DevOps engineers business analysts and QA professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain Java backend systems with a strong focus on security and performance
Build scalable microservices using Spring Boot REST APIs and enterprise integrations
Participate in solution design and technical refinement sessions
Ensure code quality with unit/integration tests (TDD/BDD) code reviews and CI/CD
Contribute to containerization and cloud migration (Docker/Kubernetes)
Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver compliant future-proof solutions
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in enterprise Java development
Must have previous experience in banking or financial services IT
Expertise in Spring Boot RESTful APIs Maven Git Docker
Experience with CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins GitLab Azure DevOps
Familiarity with messaging (Kafka JMS) databases (Oracle PostgreSQL)
Strong understanding of security standards secure coding practices and system integration
Excellent communication skills in English
