Business Systems Analysts are a primary interface between projects and business partners. They are responsible for developing requirements and specifications that support the projects they are assigned to and for understanding current and future processes and where applicable including processes for the entire enterprise. They gather and document business needs and requirements and assist with generating project business cases. They also provide guidance to stakeholders on devising effective and efficient approaches to achieve the project objectives.Job Location: Hybrid work arrangement based in Richmond VA
Markel is seeking a talented and passionate Business Systems Analyst to join our team. We want someone who will be excited about creative problem-solving as part of a cross-functional operations team; will obsess over writing smart simple business requirements; will tirelessly strive for the best end-user experience and will have the drive and desire to keep learning the latest industry tools and techniques.
What we are looking for:
2-3 years of experience
Knowledge of software development lifecycle and project management
methodologies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or related field
What youll do:
Support production operations by quickly identifying and troubleshooting issues making configuration updates when appropriate or translating requirements for developers to implement fixes
Gather and analyze business requirements from stakeholders
Develop detailed specifications for software and system changes
Collaborate with development teams to ensure solution design meets business needs
Test and validate software and systems to ensure quality and accuracy
Communicate with stakeholders to provide project updates and gather feedback
Identify and resolve any system issues and provide support to end-users
Assist with and validate occasional production releases to ensure successful deployment and system stability
