The University of Oregon Portland provides a range of academic and student support programs at its campus in Portland. Students at UO Portland are enrolled in professional masters degree programs offered by the College of Design College of Education School of Journalism and Communication and the Lundquist College of Business. Law students can complete their 3rd year of law school on the Portland campus and a fifth-year undergraduate program is offered in Product Design. The Ballmer Institute for Childrens Behavioral Health offers an undergraduate degree a certificate program and serves as the home for a robust research portfolio. There are also programs offering professional education and several research centers.
The Campus Center Support Specialist is responsible for coordinating the daily activities and oversight of the Campus Center building on the UO Portland campus. They are the main and first point of contact for a variety of building users and provides information about the building and campus wayfinding response to building concerns and welcoming of guests into the building. Additionally this position will support the Asst. Director for Scheduling and Events with classroom and event coordination across campus. Primary duties for this position include coordination of the approximately 2-3 student employees who staff the desk during building hours communicating building policies to a wide variety of building users (students staff and the public) responding to building concerns sorting mail and packages and ensuring that a high level of customer services is upheld at all times. Through the preceding activities this position plays a key role in fulfilling the Campus Centers mission to serve both the campus and the community.
The schedule for this position fluctuates depending on building hours and staffing levels. Evening and weekend hours are required.
Two years of general clerical experience. One year of which included typing word processing or other experience generating documents; OR
An Associates degree in Office Occupations or Office Technology; OR
Graduation from a private school of business with a Certificate in Office Occupations or Office Technology and one year of general clerical experience.
College courses in Office Occupations or Office Technology will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively in person and in writing with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail.
Experience leading the work of students or professional staff.
Experience providing a high level of customer service to a diverse population.
Experience with scheduling software.
