JOB TITLE: Procurement Lead (Oil & Gas Pipeline Project)
JOB LOCATION:Victoria Island Lagos
JOB DETAILS:
ADVERTISEMENT
- The Procurement Lead will be responsible for managing and overseeing all procurement activities for the crude and gas pipeline project.
- This role involves strategic sourcing supplier management contract negotiations and ensuring procurement operations align with project timelines budget constraints and quality standards.
- The Procurement Lead will collaborate with engineering construction and project management teams to optimize supply chain efficiencies and mitigate risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and recommend for approval the Contractors procurement strategies tailored to the pipeline project ensuring cost efficiency and regulatory compliance.
- Manage the procurement lifecycle including sourcing bidding evaluation contract negotiation and supplier performance monitoring.
- Qualify potential suppliers ensuring adherence to project specifications and industry standards.
- Collaborate with EPC Contractors engineering and project management teams to define material and equipment requirements.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with local and international regulations company policies and safety standards.
- Supervise contract negotiations ensuring favorable terms and risk mitigation for the company.
- Oversee vendor management assessing supplier performance and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Coordinate logistics transportation and warehousing to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Monitor procurement budgets cost control measures and report procurement KPIs to stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including suppliers contractors and regulatory bodies.
- Mitigate procurement risks through thorough market analysis supplier due diligence and contingency planning.
- Utilize procurement software and ERP systems for tracking and managing procurement activities.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management Procurement Business Administration Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in procurement within the oil & gas energy or pipeline construction sectors.
- Proven experience in procurement and contract management for large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes supply chain management and contract negotiations.
- Familiarity with industry standards local/international procurement regulations and HSE requirements.
- Excellent leadership communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (SAP Oracle etc.).
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
Preferred Certifications:
- Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
- Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM)
- Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) certification
Work Environment & Conditions:
- Office-based with periodic site visits as required.
- Travel may be required to supplier locations project sites and client meetings.
- May involve working in challenging environments including remote locations and offshore facilities.
