Position Summary

This individual will serve as a key member of theQVC Group Ethics & Compliance team which operates under the Legal & Compliance Department. The role is responsible for leading and implementing the global Ethics & Compliance program in Japan ensuring alignment with global standards while tailoring initiatives to meet local business needs.

1. Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Implementation:
    Drive the development and successful implementation of QVCs global Ethics & Compliance program in Japan ensuring it is appropriately customized for the local market.

  • Risk Management:
    Collaborate closely with the General Counsel Japan the global Ethics & Compliance team and the QVC Japan Management Team to identify assess and manage compliance risks.

  • Culture Building:
    Lead initiatives to foster and maintain a strong ethical culture across QVC Japans operations.

  • Program Development & Training:
    Design and implement market-specific compliance programs. Oversee their effectiveness and ensure delivery of training on relevant ethics and compliance standards rules and obligations.

  • Continuous Improvement:
    Champion ongoing enhancements to the Ethics & Compliance program in Japan ensuring it evolves with business and regulatory needs.

  • Investigations:
    Conduct internal investigations as necessary working in close coordination with the General Counsel Japan and the global Ethics & Compliance investigations team.

  • Global Collaboration:
    Partner with global Ethics & Compliance colleagues and contribute to global initiatives that support QVC Groups overall compliance objectives.

  • Team Leadership:
    Supervise direct reports if assigned and provide guidance and support to ensure team effectiveness.

2. Key Accountabilities:

  • 30% Identify and manage ethics and compliance risks for QVC Japan : Assess the specific needs of the Japan business and guide leadership in measuring and mitigating compliance risks. Lead the localization and implementation of QVC Groups global Ethics & Compliance programs to ensure alignment and effectiveness.
  • 25% Conduct internal investigations.: In collaboration with the QVC Japan General Counsel and the QVC Group global investigations team lead and manage internal investigations. Ensure appropriate follow-up actions and improvements to business processes.
  • 20% Proactively address compliance concerns. : Engage with employees at all levels to resolve compliance issues. Partner with executives and functional leaders to enhance their understanding of compliance from both strategic and operational perspectives.
  • 20% Develop and deliver compliance training and communications.: Create and implement Japan-specific ethics and compliance education initiatives. Work with the global compliance communications and training lead to ensure consistent messaging and awareness across QVC Group and QVC Japan.
  • 5% Report on program performance. : Provide regular updates on the status of the Ethics & Compliance program including key metrics progress on initiatives and areas for improvement.

3. Critical Skills & Knowledge Summary

  • Experience & Education:

    • 510 years in compliance or related fields preferably in retail or consumer products
    • Bachelors degree required; legal education or law degree strongly preferred
    • Ethics & Compliance certification (e.g. CCEP / CCEP-I) preferred or willingness to obtain
  • Technical & Legal Expertise:

    • Strong knowledge of FCPA and other anti-corruption laws
    • Familiarity with SOX and Japanese competition laws preferred
    • Experience conducting internal compliance investigations
    • Understanding of corporate compliance program requirements
    • Knowledge of compliance for U.S. companies operating in Japan is a plus
  • Leadership & Influence:

    • Proven ability to lead and influence senior leadership and cross-functional teams
    • Capable of interpreting and implementing compliance programs and controls
    • Strong ethical judgment and ability to elevate ethical standards across the organization
  • Additional Skills:

    • Japanese legal qualification is a plus
    • Audit or risk management experience is a plus

5. Other Information (Terms & Conditions apply):

  • Employment Type: Full-time Regular Employee (Probation period- 6 months no change in working conditions during this period)
  • Compensation:
  • Incentive bonus (paid once a year depending on business & individual performance) Merit increase (depending on business & individual performance) Overtime allowance as per the company regulations Commutation allowance.
  • Working Conditions :Hybrid Working Model (Mix of Office-based working & Remote working)
  • Flextime System (Staring time 5amclosing time 10pm) No core hours.
  • The prescribed working hours for one (1) month shall be as follows: Scheduled working hours per month: Working days of the month x 8 hours
