Sr. Cloud Engineer

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Implementation and maintenance of Azure AWS and OCI IaaS SaaS and PaaS cloud solutions.
• Optimization of existing cloud solutions including cost performance and reliability.
• Implementation maintenance and documentation of backup and recovery systems within Azure AWS and OCI.
• Engages in and supports DevOps practices for infrastructure and security management.
• Influences application and security architecture and design across multi and hybrid cloud platforms.
• Peer-reviews infrastructure-as-code (Azure ARM Terraform or similar).
• Provides necessary written documentation and knowledge transfer to stakeholders and team members within the working group.
• Provide support and escalation points to systems administrators.
• Support cloud networking functions in collaboration with global networking team.
• Define cloud implementation policies and security guardrails.
• Be involved in decision making process for new solutions in the Crane cloud environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Job may require extended sitting or standing use of standard office equipment.
• Job requires the ability to use vision adjust focus and work on a standard computer screen.
• Use of audio-visual equipment is required.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Ability to debug optimize code and automate routine tasks.
• A systematic problem-solving approach coupled with a strong sense of ownership and drive.
• Ability to quickly pickup and understand where newly released cloud services would be appropriate for business applications.
• Knowledge of infrastructure automation tools such as Puppet Ansible PowerShell Azure ARM Pulumi or Terraform.
• Knowledge of pipeline-automation tools such as Jenkins Code Pipeline Azure DevOps or other comparable tools.
• Experience using Git for source control management.
• Ability to proficiently write code in Python Bash (shell) PowerShell or other similar languages preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Azure Container Instances AKS and others.
• Comfortable in a Linux environment.
• Comfortable working with SQL and Oracle databases preferred
• Understanding of foundational Azure AWS and OCI services
• Ability to maintain Office 365 services such as Exchange Online Microsoft Teams SharePoint Online OneDrive etc.
• Exhibit a Site Reliability Engineering mindset when engaging with or developing reliability and incident response practices
• Excellent client service communication and documentation skills
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex technical problems
• Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; comfortable with translating technical problems to non-technical audiences.
• Knowledge of security and IAM/RBAC practices within a multi-cloud environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• 3 years experience in Microsoft Azure
• 3 years experience in Amazon Web Services
• Experience in working in an Agile/Scrum-focused organization.
• MS/BS degree in Information Technology Computer Science related technical field or equivalent practical experience.

PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATION

Professional certification may be required in some cases
