Category Manager – CAPEX & IPO

At Maersk Container Industry Qingdao (MCIQ) we are looking for an experienced and driven Category Manager for CAPEX & IPO to take the lead on the planned growth journey from a procurement perspective.

In your role you will lead the Capex & IPO Procurement Team at MCIQ develop and execute the overall strategy and direction for Capex & IPO procurement and provide leadership on all aspects of people-related tasks including performance evaluations training and development.

You will be based in Qingdao and report directly to the Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) of Maersk Container Industry located in Tinglev Denmark.

As our Category Manager CAPEX and IPO you will play a critical role in planning and executing CAPEX projects including machinery infrastructure and automation systems that will make a significant impact in the modernization and optimization of our manufacturing facilities. This involves clearly presenting CAPEX plans timelines and risk scenarios as well as developing and implementing operational business plans and KPIs for the department. Your main responsibilities will also include:

• Ensure regulatory and compliance within CAPEX & IPO procurement with particular attention to contracts supplier collaborations and adherence to environmental safety and regulations.
• Collaborate closely with other Maersk/MCI departments including Category Management PTD Production and Quality.
• Manage stakeholder relationships to support daily operations.
• Be responsible for building and maintaining an approved vendor list.
• Support MCIs digital strategy when planning for both daily works and Capex & IPO projects.
• Be accountable for contracting ensuring successful vendor selection tendering and contract negotiations.
• Fullfil ad-hoc tasks assigned by management.

Furthermore your theoretical Competences & Experience

• Bachelors degree and above preferably in a business-related field.
• Strong leadership abilities preferably gained in international companies and/or within the procurement function.
• Industry Experience: Preferred in manufacturing facilities automation equipment and robotics technology.
• Category Management Experience: Proven track record in managing CAPEX and IPO categories with hands-on experience in daily procurement operations.
• Business Case Creation: Ability to build and present a comprehensive investment Business Case in procurement-related matters.
• Proficiency in English both spoken and written
