Essential Functions:
1. Perform assigned tasks cheerfully and promptly.
2. Work in harmony with others.
3. Complete each task with the proper written records as prescribed by the department.
4. Install and repair locks and door hardware.
5. Duplicate keys using key duplicating machine
6. Effectively communicate with the public and work in case of an emergency.
7. Learn and take instruction from others more experienced and knowledgeable.
8. Assist other personnel or other departments as needed or assigned.
9. Maintain key duplicating machines.

LOCKSMITH II
Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
2. Must have clear and acceptable driving record as determined by the Texas School Bus Drivers requirements.
3. Ability to speak read and understand the English language.
4. Minimum of two (2) years trade experience required.
5. Good working knowledge of lock repair installation and maintenance.
6. Some familiarity with electronic and electromagnetic locks and devices.
7. Must be familiar with key codes and creation of keys from code.
8. Thoroughly familiar with all types of key duplication.
9. Must be familiar with master keying.
Salary/Pay Grade
$16.61/HS6
Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year.
Terms of Employment:

Essential Functions:
1. All functions of Locksmith III.
2. Install and repair all types of locks door hardware panic hardware and door closures found in an institutional setting.
3. Work from blueprints and specifications.
4. Use all tools common with the trade.
5. Maintain an inventory of supplies.
6. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
LOCKSMITH I
Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.
2. Must have clear and acceptable driving record as determined by the Texas School Bus Drivers requirements.
3. Ability to speak read and understand the English language.
4. Minimum of five (5) years trade experience required.
5. Know master keying and the lock industry standard labeling system.
6. Be familar with key duplications and able to maintain key duplicating machines.
7. Perform services with proper locksmith ethics.
8. Complete knowledge of lock repair installation and maintenance.
9. Able to decode and re-key locks.

Essential Functions:
1. All functions of Locksmith II and III.
2. Install and repair door closures mullion bar panic bar and mortise locks. Bored locks cam locks and vertical concealed panic hardware.
3. Repair electronic and electromagnetic locks and locking systems.
4. Plan ahead for department and district needs.
5. Figure job estimates (material and labor) accurately.
6. Meet with representatives of suppliers on problems associated with products or upgrades.
7. Meet with architectural hardware consultant on expansion of bitting array on new and existing structures in CFISD.
8. Work in harmony with others.
9. Complete each task with the proper written records as prescribed by the department.
