Our Supports for Students team is searching for an energetic servant leader who thrives in a collaborative environment. While you will bring a wealth of expertise youll also have the chance to stretch beyond your comfort zone whether thats exploring new grade levels subjects or areas of instructional leadership. We need collaborators who can seamlessly work toward shared goals bringing fresh ideas and adaptability to every challenge. Reporting to the Director of Supports for Students youll play a pivotal role in supporting new curriculum implementation balanced assessment effective pedagogy and technology integration for staff and students.
Open to both internal and external applicants this is a one-year term with the possibility of extension. Its a 10-month position following the school calendar with the flexibility for extra work as needed. This position works out of Trillium Centre (121 Crimson Drive Sherwood Park) however travel to all areas of Elk Island Public Schools will be required for this position.
Education and Experience
- Alberta Permanent Teaching Certificate
- Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience
- Extensive experience and knowledge of effective practices in assessment and instruction
- Knowledge and understanding of the philosophy and architecture of the new Alberta curriculum
- Proven use of educational technology to support student learning
- School and/or system-based leadership experience in improving instructional practice
- Masters Degree or current enrollment in a Masters program is considered an asset

- Innovative thinker with the ability to creatively solve problems
- Willingness to extend their expertise into new disciplines and grade levels
- Strong independent worker capable of managing many roles and demands
- Proficient in a variety of technological platforms
- Understanding and ability to collect analyze and interpret data to inform practice effectively plan and report
- Ability to work with a diverse team
- Exceptional communicator (written and verbal)
- Confidence to express personal opinions
