Job Summary:

The Director of Finance is a key position and the individual in this role will oversees all the audit accounting general ledger and soft-count functions for the Catawba Nation Gaming Authority (CNGA) at the Catawba Two Kings Casino and ensures that accurate financial information is provided to senior management for decision-making purposes. All functions will be performed within the guidelines of the CNGA System of Internal Controls (SICS) policies and procedures and applicable regulations.

Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance with previous casino experience is required. Preference will be given to those with a masters degree in finance and/or CPA certification.

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of Director of Finance level and/or casino finance management experience and at least five (5) years personnel supervisory experience is required.

  • Working knowledge of Title 31 and Bank Secrecy Act regulations.

  • US GAAP knowledge or technical accounting experience.

  • Financial reporting and analytics experience as well as implementation of internal controls.

  • Successful candidate must be an experienced results-oriented and hands-on professional.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Catawba Gaming License.

  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Must be able to evaluate statistical reports and other business reports.

  • Must possess an understanding of Finance Cage and Count Room processes.

  • Must demonstrate leadership fairness and sensibility to customers and employees.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products including Excel Word and PowerPoint.

  • Working knowledge of ATI preferred but not required.

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

  • Ability to write routine correspondence and to speak effectively to the public employees and customers.

  • Must be able to deal effectively and interact well with customers and employees.

  • Ability to maintain a professional work environment with supervisors and employees.

  • Ability to meet the attendance guidelines of the position and adhere to regulatory departmental and company policies.

  • Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Catawba Gaming License.

  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.

  • Ability to work an alternate schedule as needed.

  • Ability to work in a loud fast-paced environment (may occasionally be exposed to secondhand cigarette smoke)

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms; bend to open/use lower drawers or cabinetry; to talk hear and see. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop kneel crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
