Job Description Summary

As aRegional Category Managerwithin theGlobal Sourcing & Procurement (GSP)organization atApplied Materials you will serve as a strategic business partner and sourcing expert driving category excellence across theFacilities and Equipmentdomain in theAsia Pacificregion. This role demands a high level ofprocurement acumenmarket intelligence andstakeholder engagementto deliver measurable value in cost optimization supplier innovation and risk mitigation.

You will operate with a high degree of autonomy influencing sourcing decisions across multiple business units and will be instrumental in shaping long-term category strategies aligned with corporate objectives. This position requires a blend ofstrategic thinkingcontractual expertise andoperational execution with a strong emphasis oncross-border collaborationandsupplier performance management.

Key Responsibilities

Category Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and executeregional category strategiesfor Facilities and Equipment leveraging internal demand insights and external market intelligence.
  • Identify and delivercost savingsvalue engineering andsupplier innovationopportunities.
  • Build and maintain amulti-year sourcing roadmapin alignment with business priorities.

Sourcing & Contract Management

  • Lead end-to-end sourcing processes includingRFx developmentbid evaluation andsupplier negotiations.
  • Draft redline and manage complex contracts (MSAs SOWs pricing agreements T&Cs) in collaboration with Legal and Compliance teams.
  • Ensure alignment with global procurement policies and regulatory requirements.

Stakeholder & Supplier Engagement

  • Act as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders translating business needs into sourcing strategies.
  • Conductsupplier business reviews performance evaluations and risk assessments.
  • Drivesupplier consolidationcompliance andcontinuous improvementinitiatives.

Data-Driven Decision Making

  • Utilize tools likeSAP SRMWorkday Sourcing andTableauto analyze spend track KPIs and generate actionable insights.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership to support strategic sourcing decisions.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Procurement Expertise: 56 years in indirect procurement with 35 years focused onfacilities and construction sourcing.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to interpret complex business needs and translate them into actionable sourcing strategies.
  • Contractual Acumen: Proficiency in contract drafting negotiation and risk mitigation.
  • Analytical Rigor: Advanced Excel and data visualization skills (Tableau preferred).
  • Communication & Influence: Strong interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders across functions and geographies.
  • Project Leadership: Proven ability to manage multiple sourcing projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent inEnglish and Chineseto support regional supplier and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelors degree required; certifications inProcurementSupply Chain orProject Managementare advantageous.
  • Travel: Up to 25%.
  • Relocation: Not eligible.
