Accounting Clerk Full-Time We are seeking a talented and results-driven Accounting Clerk to join our accounting team. The main objective of the Accounting Clerk is to assist our administrative department with general accounting accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. POSITION SUMMARY Awaken Las Vegas is a Bible teaching church actively engaged in regular outreach ministries special events worshipping our God equipping our Church and reaching Las Vegas. The purpose of the accounting department is to assist with the faithful stewardship of the resources that the Lord has provided and blessed at Awaken Las Vegas. The Accounting Clerk will handle all accounts payable activity for the church and school as well as perform the weekly count and recording of donations tuitions and fund raising. KEY QUALITIES The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for daily interactions with members of the team the church body vendors and the third-party accounting firm. The role will support and facilitate information flow to the third-party accounting firm enter invoices into the AP system verify and deposit the weekly donations adhere to all deadlines cut manual checks and submit bank wires. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES GENERAL - Receive and record income and donations. Prepare church bank deposits.
- Record Donors contributions and send annual giving statements.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements.
- Review of all Request for Funds (RFFs) insuring proper approval and correct completion of form.
- Assist with the preparation and process of the Annual budget and Third-Party Audit.
- Prepare organize and ensure invoices are ready for processing.
- Assist with sorting coding and entering accounts payable data into the system.
- Analyze discrepancies and distribute invoices for vendor accounts.
- Supply leadership with detailed spending reports from our third-party accountant.
- Provide monthly reconciliation of accounts records with general ledger.
- Prepare and maintain financial documents reports and projects.
- All other duties that may be assigned
JOB QUALIFICATIONS Experience - 1 to 3 years minimum of demonstrated work experience in an accounting position. Prior church school or nonprofit experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and extensive knowledge of Excel and Word including creation formulations and use of spreadsheets.
- Experience in financial software such as QuickBooks.
- Ability to treat confidential information with appropriate discretion.
- Must be able to respond calmly and make rational decisions in an ever-changing high-energy environment.
Education - Bachelors degree in accounting or business administration is preferred but not required. Significant experience can substitute for a degree.
- High School diploma required. Accounting classes or certifications a plus.
MINISTERIAL - Must be a born again Christian and living a life that demonstrates a commitment to the word of God and committed to serving and supporting the vision and mission of Awaken Las Vegas.
