Maintenance Technician III

Come join USU Easterns Facilities Team as a Maintenance Technician (Maintenance Technician III). We are looking for someone skilled in a variety of skilled trades to join our team. Maintenance Technicians maintain and repair equipment machinery appliances utilities buildings facilities fixtures and systems. This position will help with a variety of work orders based upon the operational needs of the campus.

• Many more benefits - see the benefits summary here: :// and performs routine preventive maintenance on all campus buildings and equipment including basic plumbing HVAC carpentry and electrical.
• Performs highly diversified duties to install and maintain machinery and equipment.
• Performs mechanic skills including mechanical electrical pneumatic hydraulic etc.
• Organizes and oversees the day-to-day and emergency maintenance requests to make sure buildings and equipment are in working condition.
• Responds to work orders in a timely fashion.
• Communicates with supervisors and other team members about existing and potential issues.
• Maintains accurate records of maintenance dates repair costs and type of maintenance performed.
• Provides on-call support outside regular hours as part of a rotating duty roster.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Four years of experience performing corrective and preventative building and equipment maintenance OR equivalent handyman skills/experience.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge and ability to use necessary tools appropriately.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Drywall experience
• Electical experience
• Painting experience

This position requires considerable physical activity. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including heavy lifting (up to 75 lbs.) and/or pushing and pulling of heavy objects. Employees must be prepared to assume uncomfortable positions such as crawling kneeling and squatting. Employees work outside and will not be protected from weather conditions including extreme cold and extreme heat for extended periods.

Employees are exposed to hazardous conditions including noise vibrations from machinery moving mechanical parts moving vehicles electrical current exposure to chemicals elevated work spaces such as scaffolding and atmospheric conditions that can affect the respiratory system such as fumes odors dusts mists gases and poor ventilation.
