Your role

You are aninsightful andenergetic technical leaderto helpbuild aconsulting and SolutionsArchitectureorganizationtoalign directly with our globaloursalesteams.

You will be a key member of theSales Engineeringleadership teamand responsible for building the technical solutions sellingapproacheducating customers of all sizes onDigital Realtysvalue proposition and designing a framework fordeep architectural discoveryto ensure solutionsarepoisedforsuccessful deployment and maximum total cost of ownership.

You will be knowledgeable inall ofDigital Realty product lines and the global data centerhostingand networkinglandscape. You should a strong background incloud services environments with the ability to guide architectural solutions forprivate/public/hybrid and complex network deploymentswitha keen ability to translate customerrequirementsand business outcomesintoDigital Realtytechnical be a criticalthoughtleader in the development of ourglobalecosystemstrategy as well as contribute to the broader CTO agenda.

You will serve as atechnical advisorforDigital Realty customersand theDigital Realty sales teams to architectcreative and complex IT/cloud/networkingand service deliverysolutions for our customersand Director of the group you requires a broad range ofindustryknowledge including but not limited to experience at the application layer to optimize performance over flexible andhigh performing infrastructureandtailored data center be able to articulate solutionbenefitsto both technical & non-technical audiencesas well asprovide leadershipandmentoring to theSolutions Architecture team as well asother internal/ externalthought leaders.

What youll do

Networking

  • Substantial telecommunications experience required; technical and commercial knowledge ofInternetMPLS and IPVPNtopologiesand architecturesrequired
  • Proficient in router and switch features andconfigurationfaulttolerant designs and QOSmapping
  • Experience withroutingand switching protocols; SDN/NFVperformancemeasurement tuning and scaling and reliability and security techniques
  • Experience with Network PeeringInternet Exchanges andCDNs
  • Datacenter networkingtechnologies and architectures (Leaf-Spine architectures Data Center Interconnect technologies)

Cloud Computing

  • Public Private and Hybrid cloud services and deployment methodology
  • Experience withcloudorchestrationandautomationusing tools such asOpenStack andvRealize
  • Privateconnectivity services andegresscost modeling

Enterprise IT

  • Must have a thorough understanding of and experience withservers storage layer 3 networking and enterprise software. Solid understanding of the entire OSI stackis a must
  • Experience with data center virtualization software defined data centers andhyper-convergedinfrastructure solutions
  • Software and Database system development
  • Storage Platform technologies (SAN/NAS) including Hardware and Software (EMC/NetApp/Sun/IBM/HP/VMware/Citrix/Brocade/Juniper)
  • Must have a thorough understanding of the implication of common IT product on system designs: servers storage layer 3 networking and enterprise software

Solution Selling andTechnicalConsultation

  • Strong ability to focus ambiguous customer needs into specific deliverable requirements
  • Quickly andaccurately assess current operations identifyopportunities for architectural changes to drive additional business benefit
  • Ability to extractunrealized customer requirements and service benefitsgainingconsensus with data driven positioning
  • Cost estimation with a focus of helping customers understand return on investment as well as total cost of ownership advantages of solutions proposed
  • Assess performance and service level agreements againstbusiness needs andexpected results. Buildevidence andmodels to demonstrate expected(desired)results
  • Able tofacilitate workshop style sessions with customersto extract important areas of customers current architecture. Can keenly couple key insights topresent highly technical concepts andsolutionsspecificstoaudiences of varying technical capabilities in a clearconcise and easily understood manner
  • Coach and provide technical leadership to others on network designs platform sizing infrastructure system design and the application of new technologies and project management methodologies
  • Professional sales consultation of customer technical requirements to develop viable solutions resulting inbookings

Framework and StrategyDevelopment

  • Ability to organize technical and market requirements into development roadmaps and a strategic market outlook
  • Framework development to ensure solution development lifecycle structured as an integral part of the sales process
  • Motivational and inspirational leader focused on organizational and individual development

What youll need

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering Computer Science or related technical field
  • 7 years of technical experience Hosting/Cloud companiesCloud/Networking/IT consulting. Client facingoperations or technicalsales position preferred
  • 5 years ofsolutions selling and technical support experience in the high-tech industry preferably in the network cloud and/or data center markets
  • Effective Solutions Sales Capabilities: Demonstrates advanced solutionselling abilities andeffective pro-active customer communications including proposaldevelopment deliveryand RFP responses A combination of education and experience is acceptable
  • Proven technical support forsales andmarketing initiatives throughparticipation in proposalsmarketing studiesspeaking engagements blogs and other technicalwriting
  • Detailed knowledge and sizing experience of networking technologies as wellexperiencewithstorage architectures associated to private/public and hybrid cloud environments
  • Knowledge of DevOps methodologies and orchestration software is highly desirable
  • Advanced industrycertifications(AWS Microsoft GoogleVMareCisco Juniperetc)
