This is a non-union positionWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Scheduler Advisor to join our dynamic this role you will be responsible for developing maintaining and updating project schedules as well as providing regular status reports. Your excellent communication skills will be essential as you interact with various team members including development leads engineering procurement construction and project management. Additionally you will support the implementation of all project controls processes and procedures such as Base-lining Change Management Risk Assessments Project Lifecycle Stage Gates Reporting and Lessons Learned.
What You Will Do
Responsible for the development of Level 1 schedules working with Development Teams to identify overall project timelines major deliverables and project milestones
Interface with Project Manager Control Account Managers (CAMs) and third-party contractors to clarify scope of work level of schedule detail and provide technical evaluation according to contractual requirements to effectively plan and manage project work
Work with project execution teams to develop an overall project schedule with a level of detail appropriate for the project detail tasks and planning packages implement a work breakdown structure to align with costs
Obtain Project Team buy-in and management approvals to establish an effective baseline project schedule
Possess a solid understanding and application of Earned Value Management (EVM) principles and methodology to identify analyze and report schedule risks in a timely fashion.
Apply rolling wave technique as project work progresses to continuously update and detail near term activities
Provide monthly schedule status updates including progress or work schedule changes critical path and variance analysis utilizing the Critical Path Method
Assist Project Team in evaluation of strategies to address scope changes and mitigate schedule delays
Accurate and timely reporting to team members and to all levels of company management
Support the implementation of the Core Project Control procedures with project managers and CAMs on each project.
Coordinate with other schedulers and the Core Project Controls team on schedule format policies processes procedures and an exchange of ideas for continuous improvement of project scheduling
Continuously improve professional knowledge and training skills in to enhance individual and team productivity
Participate and resolve any issues in execution of joint Cost Schedule and Risk Health Checks to verify effective planning and implementation of cost processes.
Take interest and actively participate in project meetings with vendors to understand and become familiar project scope and status to assist the team in the areas of schedule management.
Who You Are:
Minimum 4 years of experience in performing cost and schedule management and other project controls functions
Bachelors Degree from an accredited university preferably Engineering or Construction Management.
For candidates that do not possess a University degree an additional 3 years of related experience is required.
Experience with projects in the Oil and Gas Petrochemical Industrial and/or Power industries
Working knowledge and experience with Primavera P6 MS Project and other Microsoft Office products
Specific knowledge and experience in project scheduling process and issues
Ability to work effectively with a reasonable level of supervision in a team environment
Excellent organizational and communication skills required to manage work assignments and team interactions on multiple project schedules
PMP certification preferred
Physical Requirements:
Include but are not limited to: Grasping kneeling light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds) reaching above shoulder repetitive motion typing sitting standing visual requirement (able to see screens detect color coding read fine print) hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time. Physical fitness and able to work at heights (climbing wind turbine) and ability to successfully pass working at heights training and certification and wear full fall arrest harness and related equipment
