Responsibilities :
Act as the subject matter expert and focal point for manufacturing capability capacity issues and performance with CMOs on packaging activities.
Ensure seamless flow of knowledge and information across functions and with other sites when applicable focusing on the assigned product(s) on packaging activities.
Develop innovative and functional packaging solutions for new and existing cosmetic products focusing on secondary and tertiary packaging.
Collaborate with the product development team to understand requirements and translate them into practical and aesthetically appealing packaging designs.
Evaluate and select packaging materials that are safe suitable and align with the companys sustainability and eco-friendly goals.
Implement quality control processes for packaging materials and finished products with support from the product development team.
Conduct tests and inspections to ensure line trial validation and packaging meet required standards and are free from defects.
Participate in routine meetings and lead problem-solving activities using a range of lean sigma tools.
Drive troubleshooting activities and lean initiatives at suppliers to improve their manufacturing processes.
Lead technology transfer activities at the site level (within inbound and outbound) including any scale-up or other process adaptations.
Lead technical transfer project teams at the site and liaise efficiently with involved functions (e.g. Technical Development Supply Chain Production Unit Quality Control HSE other sites).
Track and report progress across projects by reviewing schedules and due dates identifying risks and assisting teams with contingency plans.
Support root cause investigation of product and process deviations and lead process improvements (either cost/yield and/or product quality) with key internal and external stakeholders.
Review and contribute to process validation and risk management activities of the supplier related to packaging.
Own and drive technical changes assess the impact of technical changes and evaluate the technical feasibility of proposed changes.
Align changes with internal stakeholders.
Assess manufacturing capability and capacity as part of new supplier selection or existing supplier gap analysis activities.
Ensure technical excellence in operational start-up for new manufacturing equipment and areas.
Assess and process supplier and company changes ensuring product impact is appropriately considered.
Work with the networks of the relevant platform/cluster driving the reapplication of standard work processes and best practices.
Oversee processes and standards to maintain and improve existing and implement new innovative manufacturing technologies.
Collaborate closely and effectively with cross-functional departments including Marketing Quality Regulatory Procurement and Manufacturing.
Build and maintain relationships with packaging suppliers to ensure a smooth supply chain.
Work with suppliers to source packaging materials for secondary and tertiary packaging.
Maintain detailed records of packaging specifications testing results and compliance documentation for internal purposes and to meet regulatory requirements.
Requirement
Bachelors degree in business administration Engineering Supply Chain Management or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in packaging management within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
Certification in project management quality management systems (e.g. PMP ASQ Certified Quality Auditor) or Lean Six Sigma tools is a plus.
Experience with CMOs and managing technical interfaces is highly preferred.
