We have a unique opportunity for an Electrical Department Manager to lead our team based in Wellington. This role is responsible for maintenance contracts with various Local Bodies Councils and other Regional Authorities medium scale Green and Brown Field Projects.
Youll be managing the team working on a variety of maintenance projects on our highways and city streets around the Greater Wellington region. This role includes but not be limited to supervision of teams completing commercial and industrial electrical work pole replacement street light cabling and fittings and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). You will use your people skills to build genuine and lasting relationships with our customers and our people.
In addition to the above you will:
Lead a team of electricians assigning tasks providing guidance and overseeing their work
Pricing of work and preparation of tenders/quotes/estimates
Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project requirements and timelines
Secure forward workload to maintain the department and meet targets
Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols promoting a culture of safety among the team
Lead and champion Fulton Hogan best practices work procedures health and safety environment and quality procedures

Were looking for someone with:
Registered Electrician with a current practising license (EWRB Registration)
Proven experience (5 years) as an electrician
Class 1 full drivers licence
In-depth knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems including a strong understanding of the integration between the two
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and make informed decisions
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
Experience in developing and leading training sessions for electrical and operational staff
Financial and business acumen
Pricing and tendering experience
Creating Connecting and caring for the community
