In infrastructure engineering at PwC you will focus on designing and implementing robust and scalable technology infrastructure solutions for clients. Your work will involve network architecture server management and cloud computing experience.
Job description & summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Azure Cloud Engineer to join our growing role is critical in designing implementing and maintaining our Azure-based internal developer platform ensuring its scalability security and performance. As a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer you will be a technical leader providing guidance and mentorship to other engineers driving best practices and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative cloud solutions. You will be a hands-on expert deeply involved in both strategic architecture and day-to-day engineering tasks.
Design and Architecture:
Lead the design and implementation of complex Azure cloud solutions ensuring they meet business requirements performance targets and security standards.
Develop and maintain architectural blueprints standards and documentation for Azure infrastructure.
Evaluate and recommend new Azure services and technologies to improve efficiency scalability and cost-effectiveness.
Contribute to the overall cloud strategy and roadmap aligning it with business objectives.
Implementation and Engineering:
Build configure and manage Azure resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g. Terraform Bicep ARM templates Azure CLI/SDK).
Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline deployments operations and monitoring.
Implement and manage Azure networking components (e.g. Virtual Networks Load Balancers Azure Firewall VPN Gateways ExpressRoute).
Implement and manage secure scalable and HA/DR enabled application environments.
Implement and manage security best practices across the Azure environment including identity and access management (IAM) network security and data protection.
Implement and maintain monitoring logging and alerting solutions to ensure optimal performance and availability.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues providing timely and effective solutions.
Collaboration and Leadership:
Mentor and guide junior engineers fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
Collaborate with development security and operations teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud solutions.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices.
Participate in code reviews design reviews and architectural discussions.
Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders presenting complex information clearly and concisely.
Requirements of the role
7 yearsin IT infrastructure/cloud engineering;5 yearswith Microsoft Azure.
Expertise in AzureIaaS PaaS and SaaS:
Compute: VMs Scale Sets AKS
Networking: Virtual Networks Load Balancers Firewall VPN Gateway
Storage: Blob Storage Azure Files Disks
Security: Security Center Azure AD Key Vault Azure Monitor
Databases: Azure SQL Cosmos DB PostgreSQL/MySQL
Proficient inInfrastructure as Code(IaC) using Terraform Bicep or Azure CLI/SDK.
Experience withcontainerizationandorchestration(AKS).
Development experience inAzure Kubernetes-basedmicroservices/APIs (Python).
Familiarity withworkflow tools(e.g. Temporal Argo).
Strong understanding ofnetworking concepts(TCP/IP DNS routing).
Proficiency inmonitoring/logging tools(e.g. Azure Monitor Application Insights).
Scripting/automation skills(PowerShell Python Bash).
Experience withCI/CD pipelines(Azure DevOps Jenkins).
Knowledge ofsecurity best practicesand compliance (CIS NIST SOC 2).
