ScopeThe Mechanical Applications Specialist will serve as the technical link between customers and the companys engineering manufacturing and sales teams. This role requires a blend of strong mechanical aptitude industrial manufacturing knowledge and customer-focused communication skills. The ideal candidate will understand gear systems and related industrial equipment assist customers with technical solutions and help drive sales by applying product knowledge to meet customer needs.
Special Skills
- Mechanical Aptitude Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of gear drives power transmission and rotating equipment.
- Customer Consultation Work directly with customers to understand application requirements troubleshoot issues and recommend appropriate mechanical solutions.
- Technical Sales Support Collaborate with the sales team to prepare quotes proposals and technical documentation for gear and industrial products.
- Application Engineering Analyze customer specifications and operational requirements to ensure correct product selection and integration.
- Project Coordination Liaise between customers engineering and manufacturing to ensure smooth order execution and timely delivery.
- Market Feedback Collect and relay customer feedback to improve products services and application methods.
- Technical Documentation Prepare application notes installation guides and maintenance recommendations.
- On-Site Support Occasionally travel to customer sites for equipment evaluations installation assistance and troubleshooting.
Required Education and Experience
- Associates or Bachelors degree in a technical field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3 years of experience in mechanical/industrial manufacturing preferably with gear systems or rotating equipment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles industrial machinery and system integration.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to translate technical information into practical solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for both technical and sales-related discussions.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings blueprints and specifications.
- Basic CAD knowledge a plus.
- Willingness to travel as needed (1025%).
