Job Description

Flow Traders is looking for an experienced Trading Performance Engineer to join our growing Trading Performance team in Hong Kong. The ideal candidate is driven curious and has a strong passion for exploring new technologies. As part of the Trading Performance team you will be able to contribute directly to Flow Traders core business and have direct impact on our trading results. The key focus of the role will be to enhance the efficiency and speed of our trading stack. You will work closely with traders and technology teams analyzing data to drive improvements through technology.

What You Will Do

  • Identify and implement solutions that focus on optimizing and improving the overall performance of our trading stack utilizing low-latency technologies like microwave links and FPGAs
  • Capture and evaluate network data develop prototypes for performance solutions and automate processes
  • Use data-driven insights to enhance trading results reverse engineer systems. Designing and performing statistical experiments to interpret emerging real-world observations
  • Investigate latency issues and bottlenecks. Be a key advisor to our Trading department on recommended technology setups that will further improve trading performance
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve latency issues and improve overall system efficiency
  • Identify analyze and test the potential of various new technologies that can be included in our infrastructure and provide clear justification to the business for implementation

What You Need to Succeed

  • MSc or BSc in Computer Science Engineering or a related discipline
  • 5 years of relevant experiences in a similar industry
  • Relevant experience in covering Chinese Equity Market
  • Strong background in computer internals networking and Linux systems
  • Programming experience in Python and/or C
  • Experience in system-level performance tuning data analysis and understanding of low-latency hardware
  • Proactive personality with a scientific-thinking and solution-oriented mindset
  • Excellent communication capabilities able to present complex data and communicate technical concepts to various stakeholders clearly
  • Interest or experience with trading and reverse engineering is a plus
  • Open to base either in Hong Kong or Shanghai
