As the Head of Manufacturing for a leading Food & Beverage company you will oversee the end-to-end manufacturing process ensuring the production of high-quality products efficient use of resources maintenance and adherence to safety and regulatory standards. You will lead a multi-functional team driving process optimization cost control and continuous improvement initiatives across all production facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing day-to-day manufacturing operations ensuring production targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality safety and efficiency.
- Leading mentoring and developing the production team and maintenance team including managers supervisors and line workers to ensure smooth operations and workforce engagement.
- Ensuring all products meet company and industry standards for quality and safety overseeing quality assurance processes and managing any production issues that may arise.
- Identifying opportunities for process optimization waste reduction and efficiency improvement implementing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Developing and managing manufacturing budgets ensuring optimal use of resources and driving cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
- Ensuring the facility operates in compliance with all food safety environmental and health regulations (e.g. HACCP GMP FDA) maintaining certification and audit readiness.
- Collaborating with procurement logistics and supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
- Contributing to long-term strategic planning for the manufacturing department including capacity planning equipment investment and expansion projects.
- Driving innovation by introducing new technologies and automation solutions to improve production efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Leading sustainability efforts in manufacturing focusing on reducing energy consumption minimizing waste and improving eco-friendly processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Food Science Operations Management or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
- 10 years of experience in manufacturing with at least 5 years in a leadership role ideally in the Food & Beverage industry.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations (HACCP GMP FDA) and experience in regulatory audits.
- Proven track record of managing large teams and improving production processes.
- Experience with lean manufacturing Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
