POSITION TITLE: Assessment Screener-Part-Time
EXEMPTION STATUS:Exempt
REPORTS TO:Director of Elementary Curriculum and Instruction
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:2025-2026 school year
Primary Purpose
Support student success by administering academic and developmental screening tools collecting and recording data and assisting educators in identifying students who may need additional support or services. Ensure screenings are conducted accurately confidentially and in alignment with district state and federal guidelines.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification
Bachelors Degree from an accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements or required training for subject/level assigned
Special Knowledge/Skills
Knowledge of core academic subjects
Knowledge of basic child development and educational practices
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to follow standardized testing procedures with consistency
Ability to interpret data
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Strong organizational communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Minimum of three years classroom teacher experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Instructional and Assessment Strategies
- Administer standardized screening and assessment tools to students in various grade levels.
- Collaborate with administrators teachers and support staff to schedule and coordinate screenings.
- Collect organize record and report relevant screening data accurately and promptly.
- Monitor assessment environments to ensure fairness consistency and adherence to test protocols.
- Assist teachers administrators and other staff in interpreting results to guide instructional and intervention decisions.
- Collaborate with other staff in planning and implementing instructional goals objectives and methods in accordance with district requirements.
- Analyze and disaggregate data to assist in meeting the academic needs of students.
- Compile maintain and file all physical and computerized reports records and other required documents.
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law State Board of Education rule and local board policy in the areas of assessment placement and planning for special education services.
- Comply with all district and local campus routines and regulations.
Student Growth and Development
- Assist students in analyzing and improving methods and habits of study.
- Assure student success as determined by the state and district curriculum and assessments.
- Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
Classroom Management and Organization
- Manage student behavior in accordance with policies and the Student Code of Conduct.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment material and facilities.
Communication
- Maintain confidentiality of student information in compliance with FERPA and other regulations.
- Use acceptable communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
- Adhere to the district organizational chart in communication with all constituents.
- Present for students a positive role model that supports the mission of the district and demonstrate behavior that is professional ethical and responsible as set out in the Educator Code of Ethics..

- Tools/Equipment Used: Standard classroom equipment computer peripherals electronic devices
- Posture: Prolonged sitting/standing frequent kneeling/squatting bending/stooping pushing/pulling twisting
- Motion: Frequent walking; frequent repetitive hand motions keyboarding use of mouse wrist flexion/extension
- Lifting: Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds without assistance 30-55 pounds with assistance and more than 55 pounds with appropriate assistance
- Environment: Work inside and outside; regular exposure to noise; occasional exposure to contagious diseases
- Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruption; work prolonged or irregular hours
