POSITION OVERVIEW
The Certified Peer Liaison (CPL) Adult Family Member works in Cal Voices Certified Peer Specialist Leadership Liaison Program (CPS-LLP) embedded within Sacramento Countys Behavioral Health Services (BHS) System of Care. The CPS-LLP focuses on two major areas: (1) Peer Workforce Development; and (2) Best Practices Monitoring and Implementation. Program deliverables form a complex constellation of training data collection research analysis reporting outreach communication coaching/mentoring and technical assistance tasks that inform and build upon one another. The CPL is responsible for executing and documenting all CPS-LLP activities under the guidance of the Peer Program Manager and with the assistance of the three other CPLs in the program. Accordingly the CPL must have outstanding training communication organization and time management skills and demonstrate credible subject matter expertise in the CPS-LLPs two major focus areas. Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification and Parent/Caregiver/Family Member Specialization are required in this role.
Cal Voices is a Peer-run grassroots behavioral health advocacy agency. Furthermore the CPL in this position represents the interests and priorities of Family Members and loved ones of adults who receive public behavioral health services in Sacramento County. As such the person in this position must have personal lived experience as the caretaker or primary support person of an adult with complex behavioral health needs (i.e. a mental health condition and/or substance use disorder) and possess personal familiarity with the structure and functions of Californias county-based Public Behavioral Health System (PBHS). Qualified individuals who are bilingual/bicultural and/or identify as members of traditionally underserved populations (BIPOC LGBTQ veterans immigrants/refugees former foster youth past experience with houselessness or justice system involvement etc.) are strongly desired.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Personal Lived Experience (A B)
- A. Personal lived experience as the caretaker or primary support person of an adult with complex behavioral health needs;and
- B.
Personal familiarity with the structure and functions of Californias PBHS acquired through:- Accessing or receiving county-based public behavioral health services; or
- Caring for someone receiving county-based public behavioral health services; or
- Working in or with a county-based behavioral health system of care
- Education and Work Experience (A B C)
- A. Ability to obtain Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification within 90 days of employment; and
- B. Two years of work experience in a designated Peer role or overseeing Peer staff/programs; and
- C. Two years of work experience performing the core duties of this position (training education coaching outreach engagement evaluation and behavioral health advocacy)
- A current and valid Class C California Driver License
- Immediate access to reliable personal transportation throughout the workday
- Auto insurance coverage that meets the minimum legal requirements in California
- Ability to perform all of the Job Duties for this position with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Possession of the Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities for this position
- Ability to meet all of the Physical and Mental Requirements for this position

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Disclaimers: Employment at Cal Voices is strictly at-will. Position sustainability relies on the continuity of existing contracts and funding levels. Although not guaranteed future pay increases may be given based on revenue growth demonstrated skills quality of work performance and/or value of the employees contributions to the agency.
- Starting Compensation: $34.35 per hour
- Benefits: This position is eligible for employer-paid medical (up to 95%) dental (100%) vision (100%) and life insurance (100% of $50000 policy) plans. Eligible employees may purchase family/dependent health benefits and additional life insurance through these plans. Optional benefits include voluntary participation in Cal Voices 403(b) retirement plan pre-tax health and dependent care accounts long term disability plan and more.
- Paid Time Off: Up to 20 days per year
- Paid Holidays: Up to 13 days per year
