About this Job

The mission of the LSLBC is to protect the health safety and general welfare of the public dealing with those engaged in the contracting vocation; to afford such persons an effective and practical protection against the unlawful and fraudulent acts of contractors with whom they contract; and to maintain the integrity of the construction industry. Further the Board shall monitor construction projects to ensure compliance with the licensure requirements of the statutes.

The Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors is seeking a highly organized and experienced professional to serve as the Licensing Analyst Director Enforcement. This leadership role oversees all administrative functions of the Enforcement Division including complaint intake investigations case preparation and enforcement hearings. The Director works closely with attorneys law enforcement and regulatory partners to ensure compliance with licensing laws and regulations. Responsibilities also include managing staff guiding enforcement procedures and contributing to strategic planning. Strong leadership legal and administrative skills are essential.

  • Leadership & Team Management: Proven ability to supervise staff manage operations and drive performance in a regulatory or legal environment.
  • Regulatory & Legal Knowledge: Strong understanding of state laws administrative procedures and enforcement practices.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication for working with attorneys contractors public officials and the general public.
  • Analytical Thinking:Ability to review investigations assess legal documentation and ensure compliance with laws and procedures.
  • Organizational Skills: Skilled in managing multiple priorities preparing for hearings and overseeing case documentation and reporting.
  • Collaboration: Experience working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders such as permit offices and government agencies.
  • Professional Integrity: High ethical standards and discretion in handling sensitive information and enforcement matters.

Promotional - Only Applicants who are current permanent Classified employees of the contractors board will be considered.

Minimum Qualifications

Seven years of experience in the issuance maintenance or reinstatement of licenses; OR

Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus four years of experience in the issuance maintenance or reinstatement of licenses; OR

A bachelors degree plus four years of experience in the issuance maintenance or reinstatement of licenses; OR

An advanced degree plus three years of experience in the issuance maintenance or reinstatement of licenses.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
