Location: Remote. Preferred hub locations include San Francisco New York City Atlanta Charlotte Chicago and Austin. Candidates located within 25 miles of a DXC office will be required to work onsite 23 times per week.

Role Overview: The Payments Engineer is responsible for building the services APIs and orchestration components that power CoreIgnites real-time and embedded finance capabilities. You will play a hands-on role in enabling monetizable fintech use cases by delivering performant secure and compliant code.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop APIs and backend services supporting real-time payments account validation and fintech integration.
• Build smart routing status tracking and exception handling into orchestration flows.
• Implement scalable event-driven microservices that support high transaction throughput.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to boost productivity and code quality.
• Contribute to test automation security validation and monitoring infrastructure.

What Were Looking For

• 812 years in backend software engineering ideally in banking or fintech.
• Proficiency in modern programming languages (Java Go Python ).
• Understanding of payment protocols (e.g. RTP ISO 20022) and banking workflows.
• Experience building secure high-availability systems in cloud-native environments.
