Job Description
- Design and test battery monitoring and management units (BMUs) for next-generation consumer electronic products.
- Define and specify custom electronic components and integrated circuits (ICs) for battery management systems (BMS).
- Drive IC requirements and oversee their development from concept through mass production.
- Establish and track milestones for IC bring-up; perform silicon and board-level validation.
- Conduct electronic circuit design detailed analysis and component selection to meet performance targets.
- Lead design reviews integrate feedback and release finalized design documentation.
- Use simulation tools (e.g. PSPICE ANSYS Verilog) to validate designs against requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Design System EE Cell Engineering Firmware Algorithms etc.) for timely product development.
- Investigate and report on technical problems and issues.
- Develop schematics drive PCB layout and guide component selection for BMUs to ensure compliance with physical and electrical requirements.
- Coordinate with suppliers to develop custom parts as needed.
- Design test methodologies and automate tests for BMU verification.
- Ensure strong documentation and maintain effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Skills:
- Masters degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in analog integrated circuit design (references DACs LDOs SMPSs).
- Preferred experience in battery management systems and/or power electronics.
- Strong fundamentals in electronic circuit design and development especially with microcontroller-based embedded systems.
- Knowledge of inter-module communication protocols (I2C SMBus SPMI etc.).
- Experience with high volume manufacturing yield analysis and resolving low Cpk issues.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Python Shell Unix MATLAB) for test automation and data analysis.
- Self-motivated excellent time management and adaptable in dynamic environments.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently under pressure.
