Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is seeking to appoint a permanent full-time Pkenga - Lecturer/Pkenga Matua - Senior Lecturer in Construction within Te Whanga Waihanga-Hoahoa - Wellington Faculty of Architecture and Design position reports to the Tumuaki - Head of Te Kura Waihanga - School of Architecture and is located at the Te Aro Campus.
This role also offers the unique and exciting opportunity to contribute to the development ofnew Bachelor and Master of Construction programmes launching in 2026. We envisiontransformative construction degrees that bring togethercreativity mtauranga Mori and digital innovationunderpinned by environmental care. The programmes aim to equip graduates with the skills and mindset needed to shaperesilient culturally grounded futures and lead the transition toward moresustainable technologically enabled construction practices. As a core academic in this initiative you will have the opportunity to influence curriculum design shape learning experiences and contribute to building a distinctive future-focused educational offering that reflects both local context and global relevance.
We are seeking an individual with experience in digital construction workflows including Building Information Modelling (BIM) artificial intelligence (AI) applications in the built environment and modern methods of construction (MMC) including robotics. You will play a key role in delivering future-focused education shaping industry-relevant curricula and contributing to the development of sustainable low-carbon construction practices.
