Field Crane Inspector

Summary

As a Field Crane Inspector you will be a vital team member responsible for completing routine inspections. You will learn how to diagnose and repair mechanical issues in heavy equipment specializing in crane operations. Your core diagnostics skills electrical knowledge and heavy equipment operation will be essential in maintaining inspecting and servicing cranes efficiently. Job Title: Field Service Crane Inspector

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • 1-2 years of crane service technician or relevant trade experience preferred (electrical mechanical etc.).

  • Demonstrate the ability to learn mechanical electrical and industrial skills.

  • Position focused primarily on inspections.

  • Ability to complete electronic forms in a timely manner.

  • Developmental opportunities to repair upgrade/modify install/wire/startup and commission overhead cranes (all manufacturers and types).

  • Work at heights up to 135 feet with AWP (manlift).

  • Electrical background and ability to troubleshoot are a plus.

  • Must have strong verbal written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Travel as needed on occasion.

  • Valid Drivers License and clean driving record a must.

  • Pay commensurate with experience

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Working knowledge of general electrical concepts a plus.

  • Must be mechanically inclined.

  • Fabrication and rigging a plus.

  • Works well independently and as a productive member of a team.

  • Basic ability in mathematics reading or writing.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand/walk 95% of the workday.

  • Ability to push/pull material with equipment assistance.

  • Must not be afraid of heights.

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds on a regular basis; lift 50# on occasion.

  • Must have manual dexterity to repair/inspect a crane including bending stooping crawling twist reach climbing and reaching.

  • Possess hand/eye coordination and bilateral dexterity (gross and fine).

  • Possess depth perception and peripheral vision.

  • Must wear safety glasses gloves and ear and fall protection
