Position Summary:
Plans directs and evaluates the administrative and operational
aspects of the Facilities Division of the Recreation Services
Department relating to City-owned buildings including design
and construction HVAC electrical carpentry plumbing exterior
maintenance remodeling projects maintenance and repair
capital replacement contractual services housekeeping and City
operational projects. This position prepares and monitors
budgets; manages related activities; and provides ancillary
services.
Essential Duties:
- Manages programs related to operations maintenance of
facilities building automation and control systems HVAC
electrical carpentry plumbing exterior maintenance and
custodial services.
- Manages the activities of assigned division including
overseeing customer service equipment space utilization
outsourcing and work procedures; monitors and maintains
- Department inventory; and orders required supplies
materials and equipment to ensure efficient operations.
- Ensures cost estimates and decisions are carried out
effectively.
- Promotes and advances safety and efficiency of equipment
by coordinating inspections repairs maintenance and the
operation of facilities and City assets Division equipment
tools and vehicles
- Initiates the development and review of best management
practices regulations policies and procedures which
impact organizational performance; supervises the
application of such practices to increase safety efficiency
public relations and service.
- Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations
decrease turnaround times streamline work processes and
work cooperatively and jointly to provide customer service.
Prepares the budget; assists in budget implementation;
participates in the forecast of additional funds needed for
staffing equipment materials and supplies; and
administers the approved budget.
- Selects trains motivates tracks assigns and evaluates
the work of staff; establishes schedules and methods for
work performed; and ensures adherence to proper
workgroup procedures and policies.
- Serves as a Department liaison.
- Ensures quality and compliance with rules regulations
laws and policies.
- Shows respect tact and courtesy in dealings with
coworkers and the general public; behaves in a manner that
does not obstruct or hinder other employees from
completing their duties.
- Acts in a manner that is safe and follows the Citys safety
procedures at all times.

Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience:
Five (5) years of experience in planning organizing
coordinating and directing a facilities operation including
experience in contract management analysis and facilities
specification development with at least three (3) years at the
supervisory/managerial level; or any combination of training
certifications or qualifying experience that provides the ability to
successfully fulfill the essential knowledge skills and abilities to
perform the essential functions of the position.
Licensing Certification and Other Requirements:
Completion of IFMAs Operation and Maintenance Course within
one (1) year or related.
