Job Description

Classification Title:

OBGYN Clinical AST/ASO/Full Professor Division Chief Maternal-Fetal Medicine Physician and Fellowship Program Director

Job Description:

The Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division at UF is a robust multidisciplinary program that includes:

  • A dynamic team comprised of clinical faculty fellows advanced practice providers ultrasound technicians perinatal nurse navigators and a genetic counselor.
  • Comprehensive ambulatory and inpatient services including Labor & Delivery coverage antepartum care high-risk consultations advanced ultrasound and fetal diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Specialized programs in cardio-obstetrics placenta accreta spectrum diabetes in pregnancy and preterm birth prevention.
  • A collaborative Fetal Care Program with neonatology pediatric subspecialties genetics and advanced imaging modalities.
  • UF Health Shands Hospital a Joint Commission Level IV maternal care verified facility and a U.S. News & World Report Top 50 Hospital for Obstetrics & Gynecology.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Administration

  • Provide strategic leadership for all aspects of the MFM Division.
  • Recruit mentor and support faculty fellows and staff.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to advance clinical programs quality safety and patient experience.
  • Oversee fiscal management and promote sustainability of division resources.

Clinical Care

  • Provide inpatient and outpatient care for individuals with high-risk pregnancies.
  • Participate in coverage of Labor & Delivery and the inpatient antepartum service.
  • Perform and interpret perinatal ultrasound including advanced fetal imaging.
  • Conduct invasive and non-invasive fetal diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Provide perinatal consultations and oversight of complex pregnancy management.
  • Collaborate with neonatology pediatric subspecialties and other multidisciplinary teams to optimize maternal and fetal outcomes.

Education

  • Oversee education and supervision of residents fellows and medical students.
  • Support the continued excellence of the MFM Fellowship Program ensuring compliance with ACGME requirements.
  • Serve as a role model and mentor in clinical and academic training.

Research & Scholarship

  • Foster an environment of inquiry innovation and collaboration.
  • Support faculty and fellows in developing research projects and securing extramural funding.
  • Strengthen the divisions academic profile through publications presentations and participation in national organizations.

Department and Community

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Florida provides 100000 patient visits annually and delivers more than 3300 babies each year. The Division also performs 19000 ultrasound exams annually in its American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine-accredited unit. There are also specialized divisions in Academic Specialists in General OBGYN Complex Family Planning Gynecologic Oncology Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Urogynecology and Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery. The newly renovated ambulatory high-risk maternity clinic is supported with state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment and a full staffing complement consisting of sonographers APPs perinatal navigators genetic counseling mental health counselors and social workers.

Expected Salary:

Salary is negotiable commensurate with education and experience

Minimum Requirements:
  • MD DO or MD/PhD degree.
  • Board-certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
  • Eligible for licensure in the state of Florida.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of MFM clinical experience with progressive leadership responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated excellence in clinical care teaching and scholarly activity.
