Job Description

Job Title: Instructional Facilitator 2 Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Campus principal and supervising teacher Pay Grade: Instructional Support Pay 8

Dept./School: Assigned Campus Days: 187

Primary Purpose: The Instructional Facilitator 2 (IF2) provides both instructional and non-instructional support to a supervising teacher. The IF2 manages procedures and supervises students during instructional delivery transitions lunch recess assemblies and other activities. The IF2 also facilitates instruction by supervising projects skills practice digital learning and/or by instructing students individually or in small groups. All activities are directed by the supervising teacher.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • At least one year of successful experience in an educational setting (preferred)
  • Enrolled in an Educator Prep Program (preferred)
  • Knowledge of subject matter

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Classroom and School Environment

  • Hold students accountable for high expectations of behavior and engagement that are ambitious and measurable
  • Contribute positively to a culture of respect enthusiasm and support
  • Manage student behavior at all time
  • Monitor independent student work while teacher provides instruction

Instruction

  • Facilitate classes tutor small groups and individuals to reinforce learning concepts presented by the supervising teacher
  • Supervise projects skill practice and virtual lessons presented by supervising teacher
  • Collaborate with supervising teacher to plan and prepare lessons and instructional materials that facilitate active learning
  • Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction
  • Observe students performance and record relevant data to assess progress

Professional Responsibilities

  • Solicit and eagerly receive feedback from supervisor and team members to improve professional skills
  • Attend and participate in PLCs with supervising teacher as applicable
  • Implement appropriate instructional strategies to ensure student success
  • Maintain administrative duties on behalf of teacher such as taking attendance entering grades scheduling parent conferences preparing student activities and assignments checking homework and additional paperwork
  • Collaborate with teacher(s) tutor(s) and digital lab monitor(s) as applicable
  • Participate in professional development as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Working Conditions:

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Maintain emotional control under stress. Must be able to move objects up to 20 pounds and use abdominal and lower back muscles for support over time without fatigue. Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity coordination and stamina.
